Andrea Lešová, Ph.D. Zvolen 2021. 70 pp. The diploma thesis is focused on the issue of food ecology of big carnivores (brown bear, grey wolf ) and fish-eating animals (great cormorant, grey heron and common otter), which belong to the specified species of protected animals according to Act No. 542/2002 Coll. on nature and landscape protection and a samended. The thesis also aims to the damage assessment caused by these specified protected species on livestock and fish. In the diploma thesis we collected registered data of State Nature Protection of the Slovak Republic about damagecaused by these specifiedanimals in the territory of the Slovak Republic. We have prepared an overview of the legislative procedure that is necessary for claiming damage compensation caused by thespecifiedanimals. The thesis also contains an overview of proposed measures to resolve the conflict between the protected animals and damage that they cause.
