This work deals with height and diameter structure analysis of the autochthonous stands of black alder in the region of the VšLP TU Zvolen. There were 5 permanent research plots PRP with the area of 0,25 ha each on the autochthonous localities of investigated taxon occurrence established. The values of basic stand characteristics were quantified for each PRP. Results showed that stands are considerably vertically homogeneous on the investigated PRP according to values of coefficient of variation. This confirms also the high abundance representation of the individuals from upper tree layer 66,7 percent - 84,1 percent. Diameter analysis showed moderate diameter differentiation of the investigated stands with predominantly symmetrical polygon of diameter distribution with one peak.
