The diploma thesis deals with the possibilities and sustainability of recreational use and at the same time by proposing measures to minimize the negative impacts of recreation and tourism, as well as identifying the tourism potential of the Slovak Paradise National Park. It is an attractive area and the most beautiful area of the Spiš region, which stands out for its natural values. At the same time, i tis one of nine national parks in Slovakia. The objectives are aimed at evaluating visitors monitoring as one the main indicators of the areas´s loadability by tousim and recreational activities and at identifying strengths, weaknesses as well as opportunities and threats to the territory that can be used to minimize negative impacts. To identify the potential of tourism, we used the Bina methodology, which results in very high to high territory potential. Benefit was the comparison of the northern and southern parts of the Slovak Paradise National Park, the aim of which was to determine the attractiveness of the territory on the basis of the set attributes.
