The diploma thesis was solved on the theme of the Reconstruction of unused building. It focuses on the unused building of the bastion, located in the Alexander Doman park near the city center of Zvolen. The bastion underwent a reconstruction at the end of the last century, but since then it has only been wrecked and not used. Reconstruction has not been completed and the building has not been approved until today. Despite its atmosphere, it could be compared to a waste, in the sense that it has no longer fulfill its function and no one wants it or use it, it is like a waste. This was one of the reasons why this building was selected and dealt with in relation to the zero waste theme. The aim of this work is to give the unused building a function that would benefit people, their lives and the environment. The bastion would be given a new opportunity to spread education about life issues without waste and lifestyle without waste. The bastion premises made it possible to create a packaging shop (ground floor), a lecture room, a room for workshops (first floor) and a smaller exhibition space (second floor). The spaces are designed in the sense of zero waste philosophy from natural, recycled or easily recyclable materials. The bastion is a vertical structure, which was inspiring to use vertical lines that connect all the floors of the bastion. They are a powerful expression element in her interior. The spaces are formed by a circular part of the bastion, to which a rectangular room is fed. The ground floor where the no-package shop is located is divided into an entrance area, a section with a draft drugstore and a section with a food sale. Atypical space required to design custom-made furniture that is alike material and color throughout the space. When designing the interior, we tried to follow some of the five principles of zero waste philosophy. For example, the principle of rejection was used and thus the creation of an interior with elements that are really needed and rejected by the unnecessary. Reconstruction with such a focus would be beneficial to the citizens of the city, as there is no such thing in the city yet. People who live zero waste would surely come to their minds and people who do not yet know this style of life would be familiar with it. A community of people would be created to spread the ideas of wastelessness, contributing at least a small step to a better life on the planet.
