Forests are an irreplaceable part of our natural environment. Understanding of these complex ecosystems requires long-term processes to explore various factors, which affect their functioning. In my bachelor thesis I deal with the diversity of natural regeneration in beech stands, as an important point in research of our most typical forest ecosystem. In natural regeneration the natural processes are used, which work in forest ecosystem. It is advantageous in many points. This bachelor thesis confirms, that implementation of clear cut does not provide the sufficient natural regeneration of beech stand, because tree species from not original composition are being established there and percentage of beech, as a dominant tree species in Central Europe conditions decreases. Results show, that intensity of cutting intervention influence some of the observed factors. In som points, for example species richness, there was no significant difference between individual plots. On the other side, intensity of cutting intervention has impact on species heterogenity and species eveness on the plots.
