Number of sides: 131 s.The main target of this terminal study was to elaborate the available information of the waste management system on the municipality level and make a proposal of recommendations in order to achieve a waste system improvement. We worked up the academic knowledge of a general waste economy on the national and European level, as well as the legislation of the household waste disposal on the municipality level in the theoretical part of this study. In the applied part the model municipal territory and its waste management were worked up. The depth analysis of the actual stage and advancement of the municipality waste management system and its economical aspects were the initial basement to propose the potential ambits or possibilities to improve the running waste economy system. On the basis of the theoretical knowledge and the analysed waste economy system stage, we proposed the systematic steps and management tools to enhance the well running waste economy system in Žiar nad Hronom.
