The thesis examines the usage of transport and handling equipment in the woodworking industry, particularly the construction of a universal conveyor belt. The introduction describes the latest trends in the construction of conveyor belts intended for the transport of loose or lump materials. The next section presents the main structural elements which are currently used for the construction of conventional conveyor belts, and delves into basic principles of calculating the parameters of conveyor belts according to the norm STN ISO 5048. The main part focuses on the actual structural design of an adaptive conveyor belt, which replaces the two most common types of conveyor belts, namely those with a flat or a trough-shaped belt. The final part evaluates the benefits of the proposed design of the conveyor belt with adjustable upper cylindrical stools over the existing single-purpose conveyor belts. The proposed construction meets the specified criteria of functionality and mechanical strength, and is suitable as a basis for further development.
