The aim of this master thesis is to design a specialized winding device for filter media, which produces filter cartridges that are crucial elements of bypass filtration. The thesis commences by outlining the primary and secondary objectives and defining the solution algorithm. The thesis then analyzes the principles and processes of horizontal machines with their crucial components. The practical component of the thesis entails designing the winding device. The best option from three frame designes is selected and developed using the evaluation method. Later, a 3D model and is created. The most highly stressed components are checked by strength analysis. Control calculations verify the dimensions of the components. The resulting winding device can wind two materials into one reel, which is a unique capability when compared to the devices that are commonly available on the market.
