DUCHAJOVÁ, Natália Anna: Strength analysis of the planetary gearbox housing. [Diploma thesis] / Natália Anna Duchajová. – University of Žilina in Žilina. Faculty of Mechanical Engineering; Department of Design and Mechanical Element. –Supervisor: doc. Ing. Róbert Kohár, PhD. Žilina, 2023.This work is concerned with the static structural analysis of the gearbox. The first chapters describe the kinematics of the transmission, the need for analysis and a brief description of the design changes that the transmission as a whole has undergone. Not only the power-transmitting actuators were modified but also the whole gearbox. Modifications to the gearbox were made to reduce production costs, reduce noise, and increase the reliability of the transmission as a whole. The content of the practical part of the work was to perform a strength analysis. The analysis shall be used to locate critical locations on the gearbox in relation to the applied load. The gearbox geometry was depleted after the importation of unnecessary geometrical elements (radii, chamfers, geometry volume overlaps, very small holes), which extended the computation time and above all, complicated the network design. For meshing, HEX8 volume elements were used, which provide sufficiently accurate results given the size of the gearbox. Mesh was conducted in the MSC Apex environment. After being imported into the Ansys Workbench environment, the enclosure was loaded with reaction forces in the bearings. These reactions were exported from the KISSSYS computing environment, where the entire conversion calculation and all related design elements were implemented. The computing also took into account the screw joints and the component's own weight. At the end of the paper, we deal with the results of the analysis. Deformations in individual axes, reduced stresses, or possible strains are compared. The aim of the work is to assess the compliance of the safety regulations for the gearbox design with respect to the FKM safety standard.
