Modern immigration of Slovaks to the United Kingdom has obtained a new dimension since 2004, when Slovakia joined the European Union. Movement of Slovak citizens in the European space is heterogeneous. Besides circular immigration, many Slovaks have settled down permanently abroad and Slovak diaspora come into existence in numerous areas of Great Britain. The objective of this work is to map these immigrant communities in the United Kingdom and analyse the factors that influence their integration. Research concentrates on education and in the light of the legislative changes for suppressing ethnic discrimination, fostering religious freedom, and making efforts for reducing class stratification, and analyses the position of Slovak immigrants and contrasts the impact of the legislative changes with reality.
