Lifestyle changes and other economic and social factors contribute to changing demands for sport and sports architecture. Adaptation to the conditions created by the requirements of users, operators or requirements of a city or municipality is a concept of sustainable architecture. One of the tools is to adapt the building to multi-purpose sports facilities.The first part of the thesis presents a brief analysis of the development of sports buildings and the state of the problem in our region. This state of the problem serves as a starting point and motivation for the research of thesis. Next part of the thesis focuses on adaptability, defines its concept and explains its use in the context of sports typology.The main part of the thesis focuses on the analysis of selected adaptations of sports facilities, examines the aspects that influenced the adaptation process and their internal spatial organization. Comparation results of analysis of sports facilities describes in particular the selected aspects, the tools of design and the circumstances necessary to achieve a certain degree of adaptation. Finally, there are recommendations for practice as well as suggestions for further examination of this issue.
