The subject of this thesis is pharmacotherapy of venous diseases. In the theoretical part we described venous diseases like chronic venous insufficiency, phlebitis, thrombosis, varices and haemorrhoids. We described drugs used in the therapy according to the current professional knowledge. In the practical part we determined occurrence of venous diseases and their pharmacotherapy in practice. Based on the questionnaire research of angiological surgery we determined patients' basic demographic data and lifestyle, representation of specific venous diseases and other associated diseases, family occurrence, a state of a chronic venous disease, symptoms of venous diseases, used drugs and supplements, dosing and success rate of specific drug treatments. By analysing medical prescriptions in the pharmacy, we determined a frequency of venous diseases' occurrence with specific diagnosis, sex and age data of patients, the most frequently prescribed venotonics and antithrombotics, and specializations of prescribing doctors. Subsequently, we statistically processed the outcome data from our research based on predetermined hypothesis. Thanks to this thesis we gained overview of the most suitable pharmacotherapeutic options of venous diseases in comparison with pharmacotherapy used in practise.
