In the first two parts there is a definition of trade from a general point of view and description of the wood trade in the Slovak Republic. The third part consists of the characteristics of the transaction costs, their division and estimation. The fourth part of the Diploma Thesis contains description of the wood trade in the company Mestské lesy Tisovec, ltd. The last chapter is focused on the identification and analysis of transaction costs in that company. In order to reach the objective of the thesis we got information by using questionnaires and personal interviews. We analyzed the received information by the content analysis method.
