Diploma work adressed to possibilities of using fast-growing plants, namely the white willow (Salix alba L.) in biotechnological processes. Theoretical part provides a brief overview of the issue of the use of energy resources, information on biomass as an energy source and a description of the hydrolysis processes used in the treatment of lignocellulosic biomass. Preceded by hydrolysis determine the age of the sample, dry matter content, and determine the amount of carbohydrates in the sample. The hydrolysis was carried out at 200 ° C and the hydrolytic action of the time 30, 60, 120, 240 minutes. The hydrolysates generated by hydrolysis was determined pH samples monosaccharide content, total carbohydrate content, and the degradation of wood materials.
