FEBENOVÁ, NIKOLA: Semantic differential as a method for the evaluation of aesthetic features of chosen domestic wood species [Diploma thesis] - Technical University in Zvolene, Department of Marketing, Trade and World Forestry. Diploma thesis supervisor: doc. Ing. Eva Drličková, PhD.. Degree of academic qualification: Engineer, abbreviated „Ing.". Zvolen: TU, 2017. 80 p.A goal of this diploma thesis lies in the evaluation of aesthetic features of domestic wood species like oak, maple, walnut and beech. They are not surface finished. We have used the method of experimental questioning on the chosen sample of respondents. There is used semantic differential in 7 pointed scale and interior wood samples in experimental questionnaires. Target group of respondents contains 55 students from MSc study branch EMPZ, Technical University, Zvolen who were questioning in January 2017. We have defined limits for the wood species classification to the point 1 or to the point 7 in the pairs of adjectives. Results of experimental questioning were evaluated according to absolute and relative frequency, arithmetic mean. From the results we can see that oak is evaluated like comfortable, maple is bright, one-coloured, comfortable with smooth surface, walnut is interesting, dark with mat effect, beech is bright, one-coloured with smooth surface. Style of housing has no impact on respondents opinions. For the future, it will be better to decrease amount of evaluated wood species because evaluation of 4 wood species was difficult on psychics, observation and concentration of respondents.
