The diploma thesis deals with the use of the thermal camera to control and monitor the activity of the selected electrical device. The theoretical part of the thesis is a basic issue, which includes the physical nature of the contactless temperature measurement, the basic structure and principles of the operation of the thermal camera, as well as examples of its use in industry and and their use by firefighter units. In the practical part, an experiment is described, during which the temperature was measured on the surface of the pot with damaged thermal protection. The measurement process was simultaneously recorded using a thermal camera and a digital camera. During the operation of the observed device, an increase in temperature was observed from 8 °C to 154 °C.
