Martin Cerovský: An ecological study of subspecies valdštajnka trojpočetná Magicova (Waldsteinia ternata subsp. magicii). Zvolen 2017. Diploma thesis. Technical university Zvolen. The object of this submitted diploma thesis is an endangered subspecies of Slovak flora: Waldsteinia ternata subsp. magicii, which is considered to be a pre-glacial relict. There are only seven small locations in the Slovak Republic area where it can be found. The aim of this thesis is to set a relationship between selected factors of the environment and and the number of species studied in the Prosisko natural reserve and in the Periská natural reserve. It also tries to determine the values of the factors that threaten it in the studied areas and subsequently to propose measures to improve the vitality of the populations. The analyzes revealed statistically proven relationships with the environment that confirmed, that the subspecies examined was a sciofyt that favors cold locations with wet air. At the same time, it turned out that it does not suit direct sunlight, but not even a shaded environment. It is best flourished in scattered sunlight. There has also been a certain commitment of the subspecies under consideration to the proximity of watercourses that provide humidification on the sites of occurrence. As part of the management measures, we propose to locate the prospectus in Proisko natural reserve in such a way that several tree species will be devoted directly to the locality and left freely in the forest. In the Periská natural reserve we propose an extension of the area of the protected area to the area of the studied subspecies, which we mapped in the research. However, the border of the natural reserve needs to be restored so it can be clearly visible in the terrain.
