The main object of this thesis was to imitate and demonstrate secular changes in Slovak territory, substantiate these claims by calculations, and also demonstrate the statistical significance of our data. Futhermore, all these calculations and findings has been processed with respect to design of the workplaces, industrial machines and equipment, and work tools for people from different industries and different kind of employment, too. Lastly, to determine the date necessary of actualization of the data STN standards used to evaluating the data which are necessary for the adjustment of these workplaces and working tools for people. In first part of this thesis we have explained the historical development of anthropometry, as it occurred, what were the characteristics of populations 9th-12th century, as determined height, sex and age of the mortal remains, what actually anthropometry is, what the plane and the axis of the human body we know. We also defined the anthropometric insttruments, points and indexes. We also defined the importance of anthropometry for the design and production of the furniture and working tools for human. We also summarized the issue of secular trends and overview of world literature, mainly, with respect to design and production od working tools. In the practical part, we have chosen suitable representative samples, that we compared to each other, we have done an overview of descriptive statistics, we tested the dimensional changes on our samples, we evaluated secular trends, we have processed a forecast for the values monitored in 30 years, we also compared the data with STN standard, and we also timed the importance of actualization of this standard. In conclusion, we expressed to results, which we gained from the tests, which were carried out.
