The aim of this diploma thesis is to ascertain the attitudes of architects to wood as a construction material. This research is conducted using a questionnaire survey. Diploma thesis contains theory of the problem and also the methodology by which the goals were achieved. Based on the results, we can state that the wood has many good properties, which have also been positively evaluated by architects. In Slovakia, mistrust continues to be found in timber, and customers prefer other materials. It most discourages the fear of fire and the life of the wooden building.
