The diploma thesis entitled "Changes in the thermo-technical characterizations of wood in the process of burning" focuses on the detection of thermal and technical changes of beech and linden tree wood in the burning process. The theoretical knowledge from this subject, where the following concepts are defined: the burning process, the characteristics of the structure and the properties of the wood as well as the basics of thermodynamics, we consequently applied to the practical part with the experiment. In the samples burning process, we have created a variety of hardened (carbonized) layers that have changed the thermo-technical characteristics of the selected wood materials (beech, linden). This layer, created in our experiment, has also an impact on heat transfer. In the final part of the diploma thesis, we summarized the achieved results of the performed experiment, where the thermal conductivity has shown the dependence on the thickness of the carbonization.
