This thesis is focusing on highlighting the opportunities of using EU funds in the business sector of the Slovak Republic in 2014 - 2020 programme period and finding out experience of interviewed respondents on drawing EU funds in Slovakia through a questionnaire survey, their opinion on the spending of EU funds and viewing the biggest negatives in preparationphase, approval and funding applications for grants. The thesis is divided into five chapters. The first part is processing theoretical basis of problems solving. Each European structural and investment funds of the period 2014 – 2020 are discussed in subchapter 1.1. Subchapter 1.2 is dedicated to options support for entrepreneurs from ESI + 2014 - 2020. The objective and methodology of the thesis are described in the second and third chapter. Analyses are formed in the fourth chapter.In subchapter 4.1, the financial plans for the individual operational programs at just the current programming periodare pointed out.Subchapter 4.2 is focused on the announced and completed challenges, approved and completed projects in the business sector SR. Subchapter 4.3 contains analyses of the procedure for obtaining support from ESI +. The fifth chapter focuses on the obtained results. Subchapter 5.1 consists of the evaluation questionnaire survey, in subchapter 5.2 are evaluated the obtained results and subsection 5.3 gives suggestions and recommendations for improvement of the conditions for drawing EU funds. Conclusion with brief results summary of possibilities on drawing EU funds in the business sector is stated in the last part of the thesis.
