The aim of this thesis is to gather information about bark beetles on common spruce (Picea abies), and the defense against it in the form of trap trees and traps. To evaluate the spectrum of information gathered and to compare them with the aim of gaining knowledge about the effectiveness of individual defenses. The data published in this work could help in future to limit overgrowth of cambiophagous insect on spruce and in planning further observations and experiments. The thesis highlights the greater efficiency of trap trees to traps.
