The Diploma thesis presents results of the research into game damage in young forest cover in the model area of the Forest Service of Spišské Podhradie. In the context of theoretical analysis of the topic of the thesis, basic concepts of forest protection are explained, harmful factors are defined and the thesis focuses on game damage on forest cover. Our interest was paid to young forest cover which was chosen mainly from the viewpoint of exposition in the intervals of 100 MASL. The main intention of the thesis was to evaluate the game damage in selected forest cover in research areas. The results of the research show that from the viewpoint of game damage, the most endangered trees are especially abies and precious broadleafs like maple tree and ash tree. The final part of the thesis contains practical proposals how to minimize game damage in the model area.
