The aim of the diploma thesis is to analyze issues of the current situation in Železiarne Podbrezová, a.s. based on the theoretical aspects of corporate investment. The diploma thesis consists of five parts. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis is focused on the definition of basic concepts related to long-term assets, investment activities of the company, sources of financing and risk. The second part defines the objectives of the work. The subject of the third part is the methodology of the work, where the most frequently used methods of evaluating the effectiveness of investment projects are specified. In the result section of the thesis there are detailed economic indicators related to the main activity of Železiarne Podbrezová, a.s., the realization of the most important investment shares, financial and economic analysis of the investment project - fully automated line for preserving the inner surface of the pipes before galvanizing and designing various financing options using bank loan. In the last part of the thesis the results of the investment project and the final recommendations, which can be used to increase its effectiveness, are evaluated.
