The thesis deals with flora and vegetation occurring at so-called Nová šachta tailingnear Banská Štiavnica and its description. For this purpose, we have done 26phytosociological relevés using cover-abundance Braun-Blanquet scale (1964) with 7-points. We recorded together 44 species, including herbs, bushes and tree species. Plantdemands for site conditions were analysed according to Ellenberg´s indicator values. Onthe basis of the analysis we can notice that the most often are semi-light species whichindicated slightly warm to warm sites and freshly moist soils. From the soil reactionpoint of view, predominant are species demanding slightly acid to neutral soils. Meanecological value for nitrogen content indicates soils rich for nitrogen. High nitrogencontent was confirmed also by soil analyses. Nitrogen content was in the range from315 to 3220 mg.kg-1. Relevés show presence of nitrophilic community with dominantspecies Urtica dioica, Galium aparine agg., and Arrhenatherum elatius at mine tailingNova šachta.
