The thesis of this diploma deals with the issue of the design of the log sorting system within the selected company. The aim of this thesis is to design a log sorting system for HOLDES, s.r.o a company based in Horehron, Brezno. The first part of the thesis deals with an analysis of the state of the existing sorting system within the company prior to the proposal. In the next part of the thesis I point out the technology that can be used in log sorting the sections required by the company. Following this, in the next part of the thesis, which will be the practical part of my diploma thesis, I will point out how to design of the log sorting system. In the final part of my work, I will evaluate the design to understand the technical and economical implications.
