The object of this diploma thesis is to observe the influence of CO2 laser surface treatment of glued spruce wood as one of the anti-mould protection possibility. The number of lasers on market and in the wood processing technologies all over the world, as well as in Slovakia, has increased in past few years. In the first part of the thesis, the glued timber is characterized and there is provided an overview of lasers, with the emphasis on the CO2 category. The next chapter is dedicated to surface qualities of wood, which influence the wood-radiation interaction the most. These are: roughness, colour, moisture and density of wood.
