The Work is constituted by basic informations about the use of animal power by the nurture of forest vegetation. It closely deals with the use of horses by the extraction of wood in rugged terrain, which is in considerable rate located on our territory. The opening is dedicated to the historical development of the usage of horses not just in Forestry, but also in other areas of life. The work contains the characteristic of harming the forest vegetation influenced by selective felling with the use of animal power, the damage classification accrued through the proces of skidding, determination of possible cause and the possibility of vznik of these harms by the extraction-transport process. It also list the main physical principles, which are valid by arch skidding with animal power. Then it describes the method of asembling tree trunks, sections, but also the asembling of stacked wood. In this work we also compared the acquired results about the harm of forest vegetation by animal power with other methods of arch skidding. In the ending the work deals with the evaluation of the whole research, with the summary of obtained knowledge and results, and with the general capitalizing of the whole issue. It also deals with the possible use of horses in the extraction-transport process in the future.
