The diploma thesis deals with ever present topic of flood-protection measures on small watercourses. The first part is focused on the division of water courses, the definition of floods and their division, some flood-protection projects that were approved by the government of the Slovak Republic as preventive measures for flood protection. There are also mentioned the damages after flooding’s that hit the Slovak Republic in the years 2010-2015. The second part deals with selected watercourse where flooding was caused. This part is formed by the economic analysis of costs for flood-protection measures depending on the used materials.
