Zvolen: TUZVO.2017 The aim of this diploma thesis is to find suitable foreign market for the sale of solid wood glued boards of Rettenmeier Tatra Timber, s.r.o., which plans to expand its operations with this product also abroad. The thesis is divided into the theoretical and project part. In the theoretical part is the theoretical basis for the selection of a suitable foreign market elaborated. There are explained the terms: international trade and international marketing, described reasons and conditions of international business activity and the methods by which we achieve the selection of a suitable foreign market. After the selection of the most suitable market follows the theory of choosing the right form of entry to the foreign market and the elaboration of an international marketing program. In the project part are applied the theoretical starting points into practice. Rettenmeier Tatra Timber s.r.o. is characterized there, reports its current situation, the strenghts and weaknesses of the enterprise and opportunities and threats from the external enviroment are defined using SWOT analysis. By means of the scoring method, Rettenmeier Tatra Timber's competitive position is assessedin comparison with competing businesses. For the selection of the foreign market, analyzes are processed, such as rough and fine sample analysis and portfolio analysis. From the results of these analyzes, the Austrian market came out as the most suitable foreign market for Rettenmeier Tatra Timber's solid wood glued boards. For this country, we chose direct exports without direct investments. At the end of the project part, there is a draft proposal of an international marketing program thanks to which Rettenmeier Tatra Timber is to achieve a success in the market.
