Wood destroying fungi slow down or completely stop their growth in the presence of various synthetic and natural fungicides. In this thesis screening tests are used which evaluated the fungicidal activity of one type of plant essential oils (Oregano) and nano metals (ZnO, silver and propiconazole) against to the five wood destroying fungi species: Trametes versicolor, Coniophora puteana, Serpula lacrymans, Poria placecht, Gleophyllum trabeum. Evaluation in the 7th and 14th day were based on growth inhibition of fungal mycelia on malt- agar culture from the inoculums placed in the centre of petri bowls on the filter papers which were impregnated with different concentrations of nano metals and essentials oils. The most effective against wood destroying fungi were essential oils oregano and propiconazole. Nano metals of ZnO and silver were relatively less effective.
