The work titled Crowdfunding as an innovative method of collaborating on projects is focused on an innovative source of funding for innovative projects. The theoretical part deals with the explanation of basic concepts of innovation, innovative forms of business, crowdfunding and the relationship between them. In the analytical part, it deals with financing on the largest crowdfunding platform with regard to the use of this method of project support and the number of contributions to innovative projects in European countries. We also analyzed how individual European countries use crowdfunding and what is the average share of population contributions to funded projects. Based on the results, it can be said that Great Britain is considered a leader in crowdfunding. The work also shows that in Slovakia the use of this method of project financing is still low. The main cause may be the lack of public knowledge about crowdfunding.
