The focus of my master thesis is the optimization of forest road system for tractor systems. In addition to that the thesis evaluate the access in area of interest with hauling roads. In the first part is assessed the real condition and length of forest road system. The measurements were made in GIS (ArcMAP 10.1.), because of better evaluations and manipulation. The vector layer of lines was made for following actions. The main objective was to asses access in area of interest, based on this data the optimization was derived. After the founding of real access, tree designs were made. The first design represents real condition. The second design focus on improvement trough rebuilding of each road category, which already exist. The third design also included the building of new hauling roads in addition to rebuilding old roads. Furthermore the optimization of access was made by optimizing the system of forest roads.
