The dissertation deals with art diretion pop-art and op-art in the context of product creation in the 1960s. We summarize and describe selected art directions. The aim of the thesis is to characterize selected artistic directions, analyze social situation, trends in design in the 60s and to find a link between these input factors. Working in a graphically processed timeline, it compares two industries and looks for interdisciplinary interconnection. In the 1960s, the social situation shifted sharply, and as a visual arts, the product design responds to these changes. The work provides information, reflections and suggestions for reflection and further discussion at the university. It also offers a source of inspiration and inspiration not only for designers.
