The presented bachelor thesis titled „Harvesting and Transport Technologies in the Forests of the Slovak Republic“ is divided into five chapters, and each of them is focused on the above mentioned topic. At the beginning of the thesis we analyse the problem and outline the history of timber harvesting, methods and principles of timber harvesting, as well as harvesting and transport technologies and their classification in accordance with the categories. We further focus on regulation and control of harvesting and production process in forest management, especially tree felling, debranching and cutting. Later we provide characteristics of terrain types and the history of timber transportation, concentrating and skidding of wood by means of transport. The aim of the thesis is to elaborate an overview of harvesting and transport technologies in the forests of the Slovak Republic. We also mention the problem of terrain typification and differentiated forest management in timber harvesting and transport. Using the available literature resources we summarise the overview of harvesting and transport in our forests from the past up to the present.
