The main aim of the Diploma Thesis was to create an overview of the safety and health protection in Slovakia and abroad, analyse occupational injury in particular branches of enterprise, consider and propose a measure to alleviate them. We analysed enterprises Rožňava and Košice for the period from 2000 to 2017. The total number of occupational injuries was 124.It was found that the most risk-bearing activity is timber harvesting. Occupational injuries appeared mostly between 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM. The majority of accidents happened on Tuesday and Wednesday (23%, 26%) and in March (13%) and February (12%). Most accidents were registered in 2000 and 2001. Sawyers are considered to be the most endangered group of workers. The main causes of most accidents are infringement of regulations, negligence or inattention. If the terrain is slippery or too abrupt, it causes injuries caused by the fall. This is the main reason why mainly legs (41%) and arms (22%) were injured. The next most often injured parts of body are the area of head (19%) and hull area (12%). The most common kinds of injuries were fractures, abrasions and bruised wounds. The main source of injury was tree trunk, and the second one was tree branch. The most common cause of injury was 12, therefore a lack of personal prerequisite for work.
