Thesis is aimed to evaluation of activation of European spruce bark beetle -Ips Typographus and Spruce Wood Engraver - Pityogenes chalcographus for time period 2010 – 2017. It provides general information about these pest and problems, dealing with these bark beetles. This research was performed in forest unit Magura, especially in forest areas Magura, Chvojnica, Kamenná, Tužina and Medveďová belons to forest enterprise Nitrianske Pravno. It was found that most capture spruce bark beetle was in 2016, and the lowest in 2014 and most capture Spruce Wood Engraver was in 2012, and the lowest in 2015. Based on the results of this work, we suppose that the European spruce bark beetle population will decrease in the following years, but the population of Spruce Wood Engraver on the contrary. Therefore, precautionary measures have been proposed to address the above, leading to the minimization of the abundance of pests.
