The diploma thesis deals with innovations in the form of eLearning education for students of forestry vocational schools, students of the Faculty of Forestry at the Technical University in Zvolen and other forestry practitioners, who are interested in further or life-long learning in the field of work safety in cutting trees and timber logging operations in forest. The diploma thesis focuses mainly on the field of tree cutting and specifically on the safe operation of chain saws. Its objective was to create an e-learning module providing basic information on work safety and safe use of the chain saw. This part is complemented by a set of test questions that have been developed as part of a diploma thesis tackling and used to verify the knowledge gained by studying the course. The e-learning course takes the form of an interactive MS PowerPoint presentation that can be integrated into existing e-learning modules, either directly in the University Information System of the Technical University in Zvolen or any separate web site linked to the Department of Forestry, Logistics and Amelioration web site. To assess the suitability of eLearning training implementation, a questionnaire survey was carried out and evaluated, the respondents of which were students of the Faculty of Forestry and selected workers from the practice. The results of the questionnaire survey confirmed the suitability of this education method, especially in the context of further and life-long learning.
