In forest nursery Jochy, which belongs to semenoles Liptovský hrádok was sown seed of Norway spruce (Picea abies) of different origin, which come from three different seed areas and ten habitats. Seeds, coming from ten provenances were sown on mineral soil in three repetition. The purpose was to observe the effect of different spruce origins on their growth. Three sections were from fatransko-tatranská seed area, two sections were from kysucko-oravská seed area, next three were from pohronsko-hnilecká seed area, and last two were from territory outside the seed area, where the territory of VŠLP Zvolen belongs. In this thesis, was review the effect of seed origin to bare roots norway spurce´s saplings. In forest nursery Jochy were found significant effect of seed origin to saplings growth, propably due to individually genetic properties of forest reproductive material. Significance of effect was determined by analysis of variance. The results showed statistical significance of all ovserved charakteristics (number of small roots, thickness of root neck, weight of roots, weight of stem, lenght of stem and lenght of roots). From the results, we detected, that the highest values ,within several observed characteristics reached provenance no. 7 from Pohronsko-hnilecka seed area and provenance no. 10 from territorry outside the seed area. The lowest values reached provenance no. 1 from fatrasnko-tatranska seed area almost in every one of observed characteristics
