In this diploma thesis we dealt with the problem activation bark beetles in the areas damaged by windbreak. This thesis is divided into seven main sections. In the second, theoretic section the specialized literature which focuses on windbreaks, snowbreaks, Spruce Bark Beetles, Smaller European Spruce Bark beetles, pheromone traps, classic tree traps. The purposes of this diploma thesis are described in the third section. Section fourth is divided into two main sections, the first of which deals with the characteristics of the surveyed territory and the second part of the methodical research carried out. In the fifth section thesis is made detailed analysis occurrence salvage cutting operations carried out on LO Stožky for the period 2007 to 2017. A detailed analysis of the individual’s captures bark beetles from pheromone traps and classic tree traps. The main aim of this part of the thesis was to investigate the health status of spruce stands based on external symptoms of defoliation and decolorization on the established research areas. In the sixth section thesis are proposed protective and defensive measures in order to eliminate the activation of bark beetle on LO Stožky.
