The aim of the diploma thesis entitled "Consumer Protection in the Current Legisla-tion of the Slovak Republic" on the base of my survey is revealing the current level of legal literacy of the consumer of the Slovak Republic, carried out by means of a questionnaire, and in the case of unsatisfactory results, to develop a suitable material which is based on my overview of the possibilities of preventing problems from the given area. The diploma thesis deals with these problematics and the goal is to evolve a number of advices and blueprints, which can educate the consumers about their right to protect them against to dumping. The evaluation of the survey has shown that consumers are now informed enough and are able to use it in practice. However, a deeper survey has found, that the greatest shortcomings in the knowledge of consumer protection in legislation are students and young people under age of 35. Conclusions of the thesis could be very conductive to deepen everything that affects the rights of consumers and their protection against the dumping and unfair business practices in actual legislation.
