The main aim of our diploma thesis is to find out the presence of load situations of members of fire department and map methods of their coping. This diploma thesis has two parts: theoretical and practical. It consists of three main chapters. The first two chapters involve theoretical part. In the first chapter we deal with formation, structure and responsibilities of Fire and Rescue brigade. We describe also work of fireman and factors which reduce his occupational and vocational potential. Another chapter explains the terms like load, burnout syndrome, posttraumatic stress disorder and it also describes techniques which help to cope these load situations. The final chapter deals with practical part. There is used a questionnaire by which we have mapped the intensity of occurrence and ways how to cope the load situations of occupation of fireman.
