The Diploma thesis deals with effects of selected foam forming agents on the environment. The observation has been focused on contamination of soil and water flows when using the foam forming agent AFFF.The experimental part of the thesis is focused on observing the impacts of the selected foam foaming agents on cultivated samples of grass. The foaming agents used were as follows: Synthetic agent (Sthamex), the foaming agent called AFFF (Foamtec) which creates a water coating and protein based agents (Schaumgeist). We produced foam using a Foambox device, which we then applied on samples of grass. The experiment was conducted in August at a temperature of 37°C and then again in December at a temperature of 3°C.The results obtained showed harmful effects with the use of all foaming agents. However, with the synthetic and protein based foam forming agents it took longer for the damage to become apparent, with lesser effect, which could have been prevented with remediation of the environment. As far as the AFFF foam forming agent was concerned, we have come to the conclusion that it should be replaced by foaming agents with less damaging impact on the environment, but have at least the same properties as the AFFF types.
