The aim of the submitted diploma thesis is to find out the occurrence of the burnout syndrome for members of the Fire and Rescue Corps. The thesis has a theoretical-empirical character which is divided into three chapters. The theoretical part contains the first two chapters and the third chapter includes the empirical part. The first chapter deals with the characteristics of the Fire and Rescue Corps, its history, basic mission and scope. Subsequently, the profession of fire brigade and psychological service in the Fire Brigade and the Rescue Branch are presented. In the second chapter, attention is paid to burnout syndrome, its definition, possible causes and symptoms of burnout syndrome. In addition, the work takes on the possibilities of treatment and prevention on the part of the individual and the organization and the individual phases of the burnout syndrome. In the empirical part, a questionnaire survey investigated the burnout syndrome in the Fire and Rescue Corps, aimed at operational technicians and outfitters. It also contains proposals for preventive measures against occupational stress and burnout syndrome.
