AbstractHaluzice´s ravine is situated between villages Haluzice and Štvrtok in Bošáca´s valley (district Nové Mesto nad Váhom). It is a part of the geomorphological unit Považie´ s valley. It was created by deep erosive activity of Haluzice´s stream, which in first phase leaked in little resistant dolomites and in later phase reached to even less resistant layer of aluminum slate. The ravine has 1,5 km lenght, 100 m width and 30 m depth. Because of constant extending, the ravine threated villages Haluzice and Štvrtok. Therefore in years 1926 – 1927 prof. Dr. Ing. Leo Skatula implemented the project of obstructing Haluzice´ s stream. Slopes, edges and bottom was stabilised by afforestation. To prevent before taking away of surpluses, was builded a system of 8 brick weirs and 17 stone stages. The gorge was closed by 4 meters high stone weir. Our bachelor thesis reviews current situation of technical measures against erosions. We discovered, that weirs fulfill the purpose until nowaday, but they need regular maintenance to prevent of repeated landslides. Also there were described natural conditions and situate of measures current vegetation, which has important attributes against erosions.
