From renewable energy sources in Slovakia has the greatest potential use of biomass. The reasons lie mainly in the relative availability of agricultural and forest biomass in different regions. One of the possibilities of regional development is targeted production of biomass on plantations of fast-growing trees. In addition to the production function plantations of fast-growing trees fulfilled also another functions, for example creating biocorridors, shelter for wildlife, increase environmental biodiversity and also the carrying capacity of hunting grounds. The bachelor thesis is focused on the evaluation of these biotic non-productive functions of plantations of fast-growing trees.
