The diploma thesis deals with the application of calculations of forces and means during the fire. The thesis consists of six chapters. In the first chapter, entitled Solving of the Matters, the reader is informed about the wood like a combustible substance, burning of wood and then deals with wood-processing industry in Slovakia and selected fires in the wood-processing industry. The second chapter presents the objective of the work and its parts. In the third chapter, the work deals with the characteristics of the selected object, with the tactical procedure of intervention in the objects of the wood-processing industry and with the extinguishing substances needed for the intervention. The fourth chapter describes a comprehensive methodology for calculating the forces and means to intervene in the selected object. The fifth chapter describes the calculations of force and means used during firefighting that are applied to selected fire scenarios. In the sixth chapter, the work is dedicated to work evaluation and discussion.
