This paper presents complex results of assessment of the load of selected soil lands in the village of Papradno by mercury, lead, zinc and copper based on chemical analysis of soil samples. The samples were taken from 4 parcels in 16 different sampling points in the cadastral area of Papradno, Považská Bystrica, in the autumn of 2017. Samples were analyzed on a single-purpose atomic absorption spectrometer AMA 254 and a flame absorber atomic spectrometer GBC 933-AA. Measured concentrations of mercury in soil samples were in the range xx-x mg.kg-1. Lead concentration values ranged from xx-x mg.kg-1, zinc was in the xx-xx mg.kg-1 range, copper was in the xx-xx mg.kg-1 range. Based on the above results, we can state that the investigated gardens for private cultivation purposes belong to the contaminated / non-contaminated area with mercury, copper, zinc and lead.
