The diploma thesis deals with the application of statistical methods in the evaluation of performance indicators of the furniture industry in Slovakia. The first part deals with the theoretical starting points of performance. We describe the concept of enterprise performance as well as sources of information needed to measure performance. We also focus on how to measure performance and how to divide it in more detail. In this part we describe the furniture industry and we are dealing with characteristics of time series as well as their descriptive analysis. In the second part of the diploma thesis, we graphically represent the data obtained, concerning the performance of the furniture industry in Slovakia, by means of line and box charts. We will also focus on calculating the elementary characteristics of time series.
