GRIGA, Michal: Comparison of different technologies of logging and transport of timber in conditions of mountain forests in Slovakia. [Thesis]. Technical University in Zvolen. Faculty of Forestry. Department of forest harvesting, logistics and land improvements. Supervisor: Ing. Jozef Slugeň, PhD. Elected: LF TUZVO , 2018. 59 p. This diploma thesis focuses on the comparison of the performance of different types of loggieng technologies in the mountain conditions of Slovak forests. Research and comparisons were performed in stands where random extraction was performed. The crops in which the logging was done were disturbed by sub-insects. Over the course of several working days, we, in cooperation with machinery owner, performed performance measurements of the used logging technology, TimberJack 1470D, which worked in all three areas, in cooperation with the yarder and LKT. Part of the research was also the recording of individual work operations and procedures. We summarized and described the information we obtained. We calculated the average daily cost of a particular type of technology, and then we compared them with each other as well as with other authors and suggested changes and improvements for the mining machine owners. The thesis further discusses the issue of the combination of different types of loging technologies in mountain forest conditions in order to maximize the yield and performance of the machines.
